1. The service

PillarScan is an automated website accessibility monitoring service. It crawls publicly accessible pages of websites you own or are authorized to test, runs automated checks against WCAG 2.x success criteria, and reports results.

2. Not a compliance guarantee

Automated testing cannot determine legal compliance. Industry research shows automated tools detect roughly 30–57% of WCAG failures. A high score or letter grade means common, machine-detectable barriers were not found; it is not a certification, legal opinion or guarantee that your website conforms to WCAG, the ADA, Section 508 or any other law. You remain responsible for manual testing, content practices and legal compliance.

3. Authorization to scan

You may only scan websites you own, operate, or have permission to test. You are responsible for any firewall configuration needed to allow our crawler (user agent PillarScanBot). We may refuse or stop scans that impose unreasonable load.

4. Plans, payment and refunds

Plans are billed annually in advance by card through Stripe or by invoice (purchase order) where offered. Prices are in US dollars. You may cancel any time; the plan remains active until the end of the paid period. We offer a full refund within 14 days of first purchase if the service does not meet your needs. Page limits, scan frequency and on-demand scan quotas are as described on the pricing page.

5. Your data

You own your scan results and may export them. We may use aggregate, de-identified data (for example, the most common issue types across all sites) for research and marketing.

6. Acceptable use

No reselling without written agreement; no attempts to circumvent limits; no use to harass site owners. Public directory pages present results of our own free scans of public websites as an informational service.

7. Availability and changes

We aim for high availability but the service is provided "as is". We may change features with notice. Material price changes apply at your next renewal.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PillarScan's total liability arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential or punitive damages, or for any claim, complaint or lawsuit brought against you regarding the accessibility of your website.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA. Public entities may substitute the law of their own state by written agreement.
